Mental Capacity Act
The Mental Capacity Act (MCA) defines 'mental capacity' as the ability to decide. Conditions like stroke, dementia, or mental illness can affect it, but mental illness alone doesn't always mean incapacity. Capacity can change based on time and decision type. Physical health, new situations, trauma, and unconsciousness due to accidents or substances can also impact capacity under MCA.
